We had the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of loading 16mm film onto ARRI 416 and Bolex camera systems at Matria Rentals, located at 1831 Starr Street, Queens, NY 11385. Whether you’re a seasoned filmmaker or just starting out, this event was a perfect introduction for anyone looking to expand their knowledge. Instructed by seasoned technicians Afiya Yearwood and Jade Alexia, this unique opportunity enhanced participants' skills and allowed them to network with fellow film enthusiasts. Plus, I just love film! This event was captured on CineStill 800T on the Contax G2.

Summer of '23, I found myself teleported in NYC for Camp Teleport.
If you are unfamiliar, Teleport is a groundbreaking dating app tailored for the diverse singles of New York City and is growing to other markets too. The opportunity unfolded through my collaboration with Kian, a visionary entrepreneur and friend, deeply entrenched in the startup scene. Having previously worked together on his brand, The Kollection, Kian entrusted me to contribute to the realization of Teleport's vision for their much-anticipated Manhattan launch party.
This was no ordinary event; it marked Teleport's inaugural venture into the world of in-person gatherings, and the team spared no effort to make it extraordinary. Collaborating with Isabella Lalonde of Beepy Bella, they transformed the venue into a whimsical garden fantasy. The atmosphere was further elevated by the musical curation of none other than SG Lewis, setting the stage for a night of playful and unforgettable connections.
For me, it was a golden opportunity to showcase my skills under tight deadlines while immersing myself in the pulsating heartbeat of NYC nightlife. A key highlight of this project was collaborating with Jelani Rice, an exceptionally talented photographer. Together, we captured the essence of the event, freezing moments in time that reflected the energy and excitement of the night. Plus, it was super fun working with him as he is BADASS!
In the lead-up to the launch, I joined Kian, Jelani, and other team members for pizza at Roberta's in Williamsburg with SG Lewis and his management. This behind-the-scenes experience not only provided insights into the intricacies of event management but also fostered connections with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
The Teleport NYC Launch Party was more than just a project; it was a journey into the heart of creativity and collaboration. I am grateful for Kian's belief in my abilities and thrilled to have played a part in bringing Teleport's vision to life on that magical summer night in Manhattan.
